Product sustainability
We select our products responsibly, taking social and environmental aspects into account. On this page, we present selected projects, certifications, and standards related to our products and supply chains.
From the field to the fan shop
"From the field to the fan shop" supports smallholder farmers in India with cotton cultivation. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The products sourced from it are produced according to relevant social and ecological standards.
Certifications and Standards
Certifications and standards can help make certain social and environmental requirements for products, production processes, or supply chains transparent.
On our product pages, we indicate the relevant certifications and material properties for each item.
GOTS certification
BVB Merchandising GmbH has been certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) since June 2025.
Fairtrade Textile Production
The Fairtrade Textile Standard includes requirements for working conditions in the textile supply chain. These include, among other things, requirements regarding labor rights, health and safety, as well as the improvement of working conditions.
The Fairtrade Textile Production Mark may be used for appropriately certified textile supply chains and products. Specific information regarding the certification can be found on the respective product.
Fairtrade Cotton
The FAIRTRADE Cotton Label refers to the cotton in a product. It stands for Fairtrade-certified cotton that is traceable from cotton cultivation to the final product.
For products made from blended materials, the label refers to the cotton content included and not automatically to the entire product.
Green Button
The "Green Button" is a government-backed textile seal. It combines requirements for corporate due diligence processes with requirements for the manufacturing of labeled products.
Among other things, it examines how companies identify, prevent, and address risks to human rights and the environment in their textile supply chains. For the labeled products, corresponding social and environmental requirements for the production processes must also be verified.
Oeko-Tex Made in Green
OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN identifies textiles that have been manufactured according to defined requirements. Prerequisites include, among other things, appropriate product certification as well as requirements for the production facilities involved.
Information about the supply chain of the labeled product can be retrieved via a unique product ID or a QR code. This makes it possible to trace in which production facilities and countries the product was manufactured.
Wildplastic
For shipping our merchandise, we use, among other things, shipping bags from WILDPLASTIC®.
These shipping bags are made from plastic waste collected from the environment, so-called "wild plastic," which is recycled and used as material for new products.
With this, we aim to support the use of recycled "wild plastic" in our shipping materials. You can find out more about WILDPLASTIC® on the provider's website.
